Are you interested in joining a local choir? There are huge benefits to your mental and physical wellbeing, and it's lots of fun too! We are always looking for new members in Colchester or wider Essex and Suffolk who enjoy singing and want to take up this wonderful hobby.
You don’t need to read music, but you need to sing in tune; you don’t need to be able to sing solo, but you do need to enjoy being part of a team. If this sounds like you, then why not come along and have a go! It’s fun and very rewarding – and there’s a voice part for everyone from the highest soprano to the lowest alto.

ABOUT CHORUS ICENI
We are Chorus Iceni, an all female voiced a cappella choir based in north Essex and named after "warrior women". There are over 30 of us, and we love singing four-part close harmony and barbershop, all unaccompanied. We rehearse weekly at Great Bromley Village Hall, Parsons Hill, Great Bromley CO7 7JA.
Our repertoire ranges from Adele to Sinatra and everything in between; our varied rehearsals cover vocal techniques and performance skills, but above all – we have fun! We sing at all sorts of events – private functions, concerts, local and national competitions – in fact, we are happy to take our music anywhere.

In recent years, Chorus Iceni has performed concerts large and small across the North Essex/Suffolk area. In addition, we take part in a national competition as a member of the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers (LABBS) where 2,000 like-minded women get together to share their love of this wonderful hobby.
Award- winning Musical Director Gaynor Schofield joined us in 2018 and brings with her a wealth of experience in a cappella music. Each week you will learn something new and leave feeling more energised than when you arrived. Come join us!
